Middle Eden: where to stay.
Middle Eden runs from the Temple Sowerby area, just past Waters Meet (where the Rivers Eden and Eamont meet) to Armathwaite, travelling through small villages and bustling market towns.
The brown trout and grayling fishing is very good and salmon and sea trout can sometimes be found. Still water fishing is available on Ullswater.
When you're not fishing you can take the time to explore the small towns and villages such as Temple Sowerby, Langwathby, and Lazonby. Penrith is located near to the river and is home to a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants.
There are a number of ancient and mysterious monuments in this area including Mayburgh Henge, one of the oldest stone circles in Cumbria and Long Meg and her daughters, the source of many local stories and legends.
