Description of Beat:
Eden Lacy fishing comprises 1.8 miles of the left bank. It is one of the most attractive beats on the river comprising 12 named pools with a fishing hut set amongst a wooded and wild flower area opposite the renowned Lacy Caves. It is an ideal place to relax with privacy being ensured through the distance from any public road. The whole stretch abounds in wildlife.

Rules

  • The beat is to be fished in a sporting manner at all times.
  • Fly fishing only but spinning with artificial baits ( no prawns, worms etc) is permitted in certain pools at certain heights.
  • No dogs
  • No fires to be lit.

Access

Directions: Exit the M6 motorway at junction 40, take A686 (Alston Road) for about 3 miles, turn left onto the B6412 road (signed Lazonby and Gt Salkeld), go through Gt Salkeld village and ¼ mile signed Eden Lacy 1 mile. Follow the lane to the very end and go to the back of the house and ring the door bell.

Access: There is good vehicular access to most pools which are predominately fly fishing only. The wading with chest waders is mostly good. It is wonderful wild brown trout fishing with grayling fishing after October 14th. The salmon fishing can be rewarding throughout the season, but particularly September onwards
