About the Eden Valley

skiddaw massifwebThe Eden Valley is located on the tranquil eastern side of Cumbria, close to the English Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The varied landscape of lakes, fells, meadows, quiet villages and lively market towns offers something for everyone, and can be enjoyed without the crowds found in the central lakes.

Easily accessible it is found between Junctions 38 and 41 of the M6 and can be reached by train; Penrith is on the Virgin ‘West Coast Mainline’ and the Settle to Carlisle line runs through the Eden Valley. It is within a two-hour drive of several international airports, including Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, and Newcastle. Visit www.transportdirect.info to plan your journey.

Go to the 'Places to Visit' page for more information on the towns and villages in the Eden Valley.
