Cumbrian Fly Fishing – Angling Tuition – Fishing Tackle – Corporate events – Farm Food.
Bessy Beck Trout Fishery situated near to the Lake District and Yorkshire dales, provides the some of the best Cumbrian fly fishing on our own stillwater, comprising three well stocked lakes, and local Cumbrian rivers. We offer the complete angling experience; tuition, fishing tackle for all game angling, hard fighting rainbow trout reared in our own fish farm, and fishing for all levels of ability.
Corporate entertainment is a speciality.
From our Fish Farm we produce fresh trout, these are sold from our farm shop and local farmers markets, smoked trout, trout pate and smoked trout fish cakes are a speciality.
ANGLING
At Bessy Beck there are three stillwaters, the Heron Lake, the Mallard Lake and the Island Lake; we also have river fishing on the upper Lune and upper Eden.
On our Island Lake we stock with trout from 2lbs to 18lbs and we allow anglers to take fish or catch and release. A lake for the experienced angler.
The mallard lake is strictly catch and kill ensuring relatively easy fly fishing, a great place for the newcomer to fly fishing.
The Heron Lake is for the bait fisherman or for family groups providing easy to catch pan sized rainbow trout.
Beckside tackle shop at Bessy Beck provides tackle for all game fishing needs, fly fishing on stillwater or river, spinning and bait fishing with a range of waders and suitable outdoor clothing.
ANGLING TUITION
At Bessy Beck we have a fully qualified licensed angling coach; we provide fly fishing instruction for complete beginners and lessons for improvers. Our speciality is trout fly fishing but we can also provide salmon fishing instruction.
We offer guided river fishing for brown trout, sea trout and salmon, this can be linked with accommodation in the area.
FARM FOOD
As well as rearing sporting trout for our lakes we produce trout and trout products exclusively for some local hotels and farmers markets, we have an on site Farm Shop.
At Bessy Becks fish farm shop you can buy fresh trout, smoked trout, trout pate and trout fish cakes, as well as other local produce.
CORPORATE
For the experienced or totally inexperienced angler, groups wanting a fun day or companies wishing to reward their employees or customers.
All tackle supplied and tuition from fully experienced instructors. Lunch provided at Bessy Beck House and local accommodation at all levels.
