Fly fishing and coarse fishing tuition for beginners on the River Eden

Angling is an inclusive sport which gives many people the chance to enjoy their countryside.

We want this part of the site to act as a guide to newcomers to the sport, offering an introduction to why people fish, the rules and regulations and what you can hope to catch in the rivers and still waters of the Eden Valley, Cumbria.

Borderlines is a not for profit company, based in Cumbria, with the aim of removing barriers to participation in angling for all groups regardless of age, ability, race, religion or social background. Particular emphasis is placed on including the disadvantaged, disabled and those requiring rehabilitation.

Angling instruction for Borderlines is provided by Clive Mitchelhill, Glyn Freeman and Chris Bowman. Clive and Glyn are both members of the Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors and FFF. Chris is a Professional Anglers Association registered coach and is also Borderlines Company Secretary.
